Not a good week for me. I came down with a horrible chest infection last week so pushed back my timetable for building up. The antibiotics have kicked in now and I am up and out of bed.
Not a great week here either. Didn't manage to go for a run this weekend. Hoping for a better week now (particularly since the 10 stroppy emails I fully expected to arrive over the weekend have not materialised in my inbox!)... But I'm just exhausted, mentally and physically. I slept for over 12 hours on Friday night, which is very telling!
This week I will be mostly tapering 😃 Hilly race this Sunday. Looking forward to it in a masochistic kind of way. It's uphill for about 5k right from the off, then when you crest the hill you see the next one 🙄
Then it's mostly downhill into the cake table 🏅🍰☕️
So this week I will be mostly running to ......Take That!
I know, I know, a bit unexpected. BUT I was lucky enough to go to Birmingham Genting Arena to see them on Saturday with my lovely hubby and darling daughter. And the show was absolutely brilliant! It's called Wonderland. The music was terrific but so was the stage craft............
It was on my list of ' would love to do' and hubby managed to get great tickets.....part of my birthday treats xx
So just putting a new running playlist together 👍🏼😳
Starting week 4 today. Looking forward to getting in from work then out to run. Did strength and flex on Sunday so felt stiff and weak yesterday! All better today!
Did week 7 run 2 yesterday. I used the app for the first time having found out about it yesterday. It made a big difference being able to listen to my own music but I did miss Laura's voice, strangely enough! It was also a bit of a faff trying to juggle 3 apps (the couch to 5k app, spotify, and map my run) and get them all going at the right time.
I'm doing week 3 this week, had to give it a miss last week because of health problems and was very nervous about the 3 mins running! But am managing OK, keep slow, slow and slower, and Laura's firm-but-fair 'don't shop's keeps me going. Love this programme and this forum!
hi all , not posted in here before , its like the pub/ tearoom isnt it , just to say w6r2 dun n dusted , not looking forward to run3 im finding this week tough , but im stubborn so ill push on lol , hope you feel better soon RFC x
Well, my hopes for a better week haven't quite materialised in running terms or generally! Tuesday (normal running night) I had a horrible headache, so crawled off to bed. Wednesday I didn't make it into work, as my head was still bad. And yesterday (normal running night) was DD1's parents evening at school, so didn't get home til nearly 9pm, then had my fish & chips from the chippy, which we'd picked up at the start of the 2-mile walk home.
No chance to go tonight as I'm going to need to spend the evening doing laundry - fortunately I have access to a college laundry room as my washing machine has packed up, too... It never rains but it pours...!
