I'm new here (though I've been lurking for a couple of months after finding out about this programme), and I've decided to start the Couch to 5k course, because, well, quite frankly I'd like to be a hell of a lot fitter than I currently am. Baby steps. I am a little worried though as I've been dealing with chronic pain of unknown cause for the last 18 months too, which definitely hasn't helped with me fitness/general health levels - on bad days I can barely walk, never mind anything else. I'm hoping if I take things slow I'll be ok though - kind of sick of letting the pain dictate what I can and can't do (I'm a Uni student and haven't been able to go out with my friends on nights out etc for most of my time here which sucks >< But that's another story), so I'd like to at least try and do something for me. It may well end up making the pain worse, but I guess I won't know until I try? That's what I keep telling myself anyway.
Anyway, wish me luck! I'm hoping that having written and posted this I'll be forced to see my plan through of starting tomorrow morning, if only to save face ;P

You never know until you try. We all join this program with our own unique challenges. With the support you get from this forum and a bit of common sense you will be amazed what you can achieve. Keep posting and remember to go super slow.
That's what I figured. And if it does make things worse, at least I'll know one way or the other and I can try something else. And yup, I'll definitely go slow
Good luck, I've been meaning to start again as only got half way last time (due to unrelated illness put me in hospital) but not set a date so thinking today should be the day !
Ah, fair enough - it is still a very cute picture. I especially love the flower crown :3
Oh bless him xD Poppy's the same - she tolerates small dogs, but not big dogs, but she's had a couple of bad experiences with the less friendly farm dogs near us, so I definitely don't blame her.
Aww, that's lovely! I'd love to be able to run with Poppy, but she runs a lot faster than me and I'd either lose an arm or hurt myself trying to keep up with her xD She's very enthusiastic about exercise xxx
