Well, I think I'm almost there, I've done a couple of 30 minute runs and I've timed my final run of week 9 with a 5K Race for Life tomorrow. Bit nervous - so wish me luck! It's been a tough old journey at times, but I have to say I've enjoyed it. I saw a running club was doing the course locally so one of my runs I've done with them, which is a completely different experience and I didn't like it at first but I stuck with it and now I've made lots of new friends, as well as getting fitter and losing weight. It's been good for my confidence and I've had so much support from friends, people on here and running club members.
Importantly, I feel that doing my Race for Life tomorrow will be a big 'two fingers in the air' to the breast cancer that I was diagnosed with three years ago. I was treated early, it all got sorted and I'm feeling fitter than ever. I will be putting on my 'Hell hath no fury like a woman in pink' t-shirt tomorrow, lacing up my trainers and saying a silent thank you to everyone that helped - including all of you!
I'll let you know how I get on and will post a picture - I expect I'll be as pink as my t-shirt at the end! And yes, I will be taking Laura with me... xx
