Well thats the 3rd solo run of the week as a graduate completed . Didn't feel like i was up to this run tonight, and the workout details show it as well . My thighs front and back , my calves , in fact the whole of my lower body just weren't feeling it . I put it down to now doing 30 minute runs its gonna feel that way for a while , so suck it up . So off i go with the thought in my head , ill give it 10 minutes see how i feel and if it aint happening ill just sack it off and call it a practice run [no such thing really is there?πππ] . i persevered and hey-ho the 1st half was hard work,as the red zone shows. I couldn't get my s... together it was just going so wrong, but i didn't knock it on the head i gave myself a good mental slap and kept going . The last 15 minutes came together and i done it . If the 1st 15 minutes had gone like the last , it would of been a near perfect run for me . Now i know we have good , so so , or even bad runs , but i was pleased i turned what was looking like a bad run into a so so one ,so i guess this one was my 1st joggius horribilus . But a completed run is a tick in the W column . im knackered , sore , but i done it tonight and got another 2 day rest to look forward to

I feel your pain! I've only done one graduate 'solo' run so far, soooo difficult, like you I didn't give up, putting it down to bad night's sleep night before..and it was my birthday..!!! 2nd run tomorrow and I'm taking Laura along to keep me company!! Oh and I'm also taking my new Garmin watch that hubby and son bought for my birthday. Happy running π
Sounds like a great run! Well done!
Just take it easy and enjoy! I have been running since July last year so am now quite used to that first 10-13 mins being more difficult (the toxic ten), Once i had twigged on to that it became easier to plough through it to the bit where your body says, "ok, thats not so bad now!"
I also have my own rule.....never less than 3k. It works for me ππΌ
Well done for hanging in there and beating the gremlins! Some people say that running happens as much in the mind as in the legs - I think you have done really well to flex those mental muscles.
Wow !!! That's brilliant !! I'm pleased with myself for managing to run / shuffle for 3mins so I'm in awe of your running for 30mins
