Shoes Please Hold Out

I got these last year in April - These are Brook Adrenaline GTS 15. They have about 300 miles on them, walking, running and stair climbing. Most of that is on a track. They said they should last 300 - 500 miles. My feet are wide and I blow shoes out a lot. In addition, Brooks tend to wear out in this same spot, so maybe me and Brooks aren't such a great match.

I will be running my first ever 5K trail run this Saturday May 13th on my birthday, in these very shoes, which are also the first pair of running shoes I have ever owned.

I get new shoes in June when I go to Alabama. I will get analyzed and fit for shoes at a running store. I forget the name of the place right now., but I'll post when I get the shoes. I hope they carry Hoka One One.

Lot's of firsts for me. What's cool about being a new runner is, almost every week is a week of Personal Bests!

When I started this, I thought I'd die after jogging 30 yards. W1R1 was almost enough to make me believe I could never even manage jogging 5 minutes, let alone running that long. I worried about the damage I had done to my lungs over the years, heart attack and injuries. Now, I am addicted, have ran 5.9 miles non stop and I can't stand not running on my rest and recovery days.

Anyway, These shoes are so worn out, I may qualify as a minimalist! hahaha!

They look as if they have some life left in the soles though. Could you not order some on the internet to be delivered before June? If not, maybe you could get two pairs and rotate them?

That's a good idea. Hope to end up with a pair of road n track and a pair of trail.

I found it so hard to give up my first pair of running shoes, they were like slippers to me by the end, no support but lovely and comfortable! Good luck with the run though, I'm sure they will be fine as they are...

Love the automatic labels your post got though... System delivers a cracker again!

They don't look so bad to me. I'm wearing my ex running NB trainers as walking everyday shoes and they have well over 600 miles and the soles are still pretty good. The 'spring' had gone out of them a bit but a pair of gel insoles helped with that.

I'm wearing a really cheapo pair of running shoes at the moment and they are OK. I think that the big companies view runners as a niche market and charge accordingly. When I look at the runners in my local Parkrun, the majority of people are wearing gear that would put many professional runners to shame - from a monetary point of view!

I have a box of running gear (don't tell my OH) here at home, most of it unworn. with many eclectic bits and bobs - wrist to elbow sleeves, a little bandana that doubles up as a scarf, a water bottle etc etc, plus tops and trousers/shorts. Considering that the 6 or 7 10Ks I have participated in gave me a technical running top (most unworn too). Plus 2 brand new pairs of running shoes hidden on top of a wardrobe ................................. oh dear, oh dear
