Week 5, Run 1 completed ... Again!

Sometimes life gets in the way. Two weeks ago I did this run, but chicken-poxed grandson came to stay, daughter got pleurisy, I got a throat infection, and a long weekend in Rome had to be endured πŸ˜‰ So I decided to start Week 5 again and after a ten day break it was with some trepidation as I was worried that progress I had made would slide. Delighted to report that I managed it this morning! It wasn't any easier but it felt so good to be back running again. Another break next week for a short hospital stay, so wondering whether to continue with Week 5, Run 2, or keep repeating Run 1 until I can get back into a proper routine again. Any other week would be fine, but this is three different runs and the "big" one is looming so I assume it is important to run it as Laura says ... Without several days gaps in between. I'm not up against time - would like to run 5K at some point this year. Would welcome advice - thanks. πŸ˜ƒ

  • Well done! I havent been able to run for 2 weeks either since my injury. Off the crutches now but still having some pain so gonna give it another week and maybe step back onto week 4. We'll get there eventually! LOL xx

  • Good luck! It's really annoying having to take a break whe you're starting to get into a routine. I did Week 5 Run 2 yesterday - just - but I am going to repeat it tomorrow as I have a hospital procedure on Thursday and will have to take five days off again. So next week I plan to complete Week 5 in full... Yes - we'll get there eventually! But don't run until you're fully recovered or you may end up taking one step forwards and three steps backwards. πŸƒπŸΌπŸ˜X
