Hi all. About to do my first run of the couch to 5k challenge. Very nervous as I don't think I could even run for a bus at the moment! I am very determined though. My new purchase of hideous pink running trainers must mean I am serious as I wouldn't usually be seen in shoes like these (I'm a Doc Martins kind of gal usually!). Anyway there's no turning back I'm determined to get more fit and lose weight. So watch this space!!!!! πŸ˜€πŸŒπŸƒ

Well done you for being so determined.

This forum will help you, so post your triumphs, your worries, your disappointments.

You are setting off on such a rewarding journey. Keep us posted.

If it's any consolation, I ended up with pink shoes too - despite going into the shop with the opening gambit was 'I don't want anything pink'.

I am sure you won't regret starting C25K....it could transform your life.

There is nothing to fear, just remember that you are in control. If you can't complete a workout then repeat it and then move on. It may take you a few repeats to get started but that is no problem.

Just go as slow as you need to and always take at least one rest day.......even when the enthusiasm takes a grip and you want to run every day. Relax and enjoy it. Tell us how you get on. Good luck.

Well just did the first run in the set. I survived!!! Actually it wasn't anywhere near as awful as I thought it would be, one might say it was almost enjoyable especially the sense of achievement now! Legs feel like jelly and my hips feel like I'm about 90 years old but I did it!! Hoorah! Thank you for the kind words of encouragement guys. Next one Friday. πŸ˜ƒ

Yay good for you! And I used to have this all-dark-colours-wardrobe, but I always went mad with my running gear -- it seems quite inevitable anyway! Happy running!

Have you music to listen too ? I couldn't run without my music, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Foo Fighters I find really uplifting and get my feet moving

Hiya. Yes defo on music although the speaking on the c25k app didn't come across the music loud enough to hear it properly. There must be a setting I can alter somewhere. 😊
