I'm an obese, 44 year old mum and I've decided enough is enough. I've just completed my first week and feel knackered, my legs ache, my back hurts and my face is bright red... But I did it
We even saw a deer whole running this morning..... Helping us along
I'm ready for Friday and my second week... Hopefully my new proper running stuff will be here by then

Fantastic, well done. I am an obese 50 year old on week 5. One tip I read in the times (from Paula Radcliffe no less) was to get a sports massage once a month to deal with some of the aches and pains. I had one, which was excruciating, but it made my knee and foot pain vanish! My wife is doing it with me, she had a sore back and had a massage and it helped her enormously! Keep going, you're doing fab!
Ooo thanks for the tip..... Definitely worth a try
It's great so many people are supporting each other. I only joined at dinnertime and there are so many people making me smile and determined to carry on
Well done . I ran a half marathon in 2012 and started the same as you . On week 2 I felt I couldnt do it but it does get easier . I gave up running due to headaches but am starting right back at the beginning again , just finished week 1 and so far so good . I practice yoga twice a week , great for getting a good stretch
