The C25K+ podcasts are great, aren't they? I still use Speed every so often for my interval runs, but I must admit I haven't used Stepping Stones or Stamina for a while, mostly because I don't run with headphones any more. I must look at getting some of those bone-conducting ones.
My experience with both Stamina and Stepping Stones is that they are great, but I am not the most co-ordinated person in the world, so my attempts tend to be accompanied by a lot of muttering along the lines of '1,2, oh hang on, 1,1, oh damn, 1,2,3,4 yes! oh bum, 3,4,1,2,3,4, 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,2,2 what? ' etc.
Speed is great if you only have a short time for a run because you can be out and back in about 20 minutes. I find it quite hard still but that's a good thing!
Thanks Anniemurph! Ha! I know what you mean with the 1,2,3,etc. Sometimes I just forget the counting and whoops! I have to start all over again! Never mind though it's still great!
Will try again tomorrow as I've just come home after being at work all day. How many times did you do stepping stones before moving onto speed and stamina?
You can do all three of these podcasts interchangeably - you don't need to progress through them. Give them a go and see what you think of them. I definitely found Speed hardest when I started, but if you've graduated then you can definitely do all three. Have fun!
Hi Peggy, i have only tried stepping stones and I must admit I wasn't too keen on it. I felt it totally put me off kilter and i didn't know half way through if I was too fast or too slow or what! However, ive only tried it once and it may have been an off day. Everyone is different as is every run i think but its interesting trying new things. I think sometimes we worry that trying something new could interfere with a good run! Good luck x
I love Speed and Stamina and still do them quite often. Speed for those days when perhaps you have lots of energy but not so much time, the whole thing is 26 mins including warm up and cool down. I keep track of how far I've run and try and beat my distance. Stamina is my real fave, a 35 min run that gets faster in the same way as Stepping Stones, I also track my distance for that one too. I find it almost meditative that podcast!
Like a lot of people I wasn't keen on Stepping Stones, not sure why, the music probably. I still do it occasionally though.
Thank you Curlygurly ! Good info. I am defiantly going to try them. There is many inclines where I live (in the sticks). However never one to give up I shall persevere. I have two 5 k runs coming up so I would like to get a time.
