After the unpredictable weather this afternoon, I really wasn't sure I wanted to go for a run tonight. In fact, I was pretty sure I *didn't* want to! But then I remembered that I generally feel better afterwards, and I try to follow he rule which says I don't have to *want* to do it; I just have to do it. So I quickly got changed before I could change my mind, and a mere half hour or so later escaped out the door!
I decided to just go for a nice 20 mins again - for all that I want to build up distance, speed and stamina (ok, not all at once!), at the moment I just need to get my head back into a positive mindset. So w5r3 playing, and off I tootled into a surprisingly lovely evening!
Having gone round the usual two cul-de-sacs, I decided to venture into the fields as I've missed them! And the joy of being off the pavements meant that instead of just doing the first hundred yards or so where there's a reasonably good paved track, I kept going. And going.
As the sun was going down and the light fading I was starting to doubt slightly the wisdom of this choice, but oh how lovely to be in the fields again, instead of just going round and round the same few roads. I managed to make it through to the end without incident, and with a whole heap of satisfaction that I'd not just given in and stayed at home. So note to self: make the most of the light evenings, use the field paths more
Feeling so much better, and will aim for 25 mins next time out...
