Just completed my first day of couch to 5k. Really hoping to stick at this to complete a 10k charity run at the end of the year

Hi and Welcome...
This is great place to start your running journey. You will get a lot of support and great advice here. Follow the C25K programme carefully.. take your rest days and mainly keep it steady and slow.
You will get that advice a lot... that is because, that way, you make the steady progress and get to Graduation injury free Don't be tempted to push yourself too hard or go too fast too soon, a few have done that and ended up on the IC.. or disappeared altogether !
Other exercise on your rest days is helpful too, for core strength and stamina.. and the linked Strength and Flex exercises work well too in conjunction with the programme
Good luck and keep posting.. we are great for motivation
Good for you - getting started is the hardest part and once you get going you will love it
Hi Georgia & welcome to our little community. This is the most positive, supportive place in the whole of the web. You'll get unrelenting positivity, advice, encouragement and help here. Just keep posting, ask whatever you like and there is absolutely no reason at all why you cannot run 10km later in the year (just don't overdo it). Slow, steady, gentle, regular wins the race. Pushing on, overdoing things, not taking your rest days will get you hurt ('on the injury couch') and this won't help your preparation for the 10km.
Good luck!
