Healthy weight loss tips
I'm around the same age and have got a bit stuck on week 7. However I do go running with a group now instead of doing C25k on my own. I also need to lose some weight. I kind of know how to eat healthily but love my food too much Happy to do this with you though and support each other?
Cheers.. that's a good idea. I'm a bit isolated here- I'm working in China.. lots of people run in the park but I've not seen anything organised.. it's all individuals like me with headphones on .
That's a shame. A running buddy might help. Maybe you could set something up?
Hi I m Ria888 it's so true I have a Buddy /Walker/Jog/Walker it really works Traceyinchina
Just keep moving! Eat less, move more! Cut out junk food and things like bought snacky stuff and boxed cakes, ice cream. You know the sort of thing that sabotages weight loss! Cut that lot out, fizzy drinks, sugary juices, pop, takeaways etc. The fortune you save can be spent on running gear 😃
I love my food too but it's about quality not quantity. Get busy in the kitchen and you can make delicious meals and snacks . Start today and make it a habit for life 😃 It's not complicated. One pan wonders R US 🙂
Don't eat your running calories in doughnuts! It's easy to think "I ran today, I can reward myself!" It doesn't work like that, and you have to run a very long way to burn off a doughnut. MW is right, no processed crap, lean meat and veg is the way to go. I particularly like beans, lots of energy for few calories.
I hate counting calories (it's soul destroying!) and I do like my food, so I found the 5:2 diet where I fast 2 days a week is perfect for me. Takes a bit of getting used to, but the discipline only has to last for 1 day...
Really made a difference for me.
I'm 50 and hit a wall with weight loss too. I am eating healthily, following a weight loss plan that always used to work, whilst following a sprint triathlon training plan.
I'm wondering if it's either muscle gain or hormonal. Whichever, the weight ain't budging! I have changed shape and feel healthy, so trying not to fret. You could take body measurements instead, to see if that gives some indication of the benefits of running.
Yup sounds familiar.. I am changing shape for sure but I suppose I expected to shift weight too with my greater attention to what I'm eating. Guess we just need to plod on my dear ... and be happy with the many positives! My blood pressure is a whole lot better too. That's something not many folks talk about but it kinda is a good indication that things are improving- no matter what the scales say! 👍🏼😊🌻
Yes, as everyone on here is telling you: if you only eat the calories your body needs, you will lose weight with this programme. The app I'm using tells me how many calories I've burnt on each run so if I only eat the recommended amount of calories for my height and weight, I will lose weight.
It takes time though so don't expect it to happen overnight 😜
I wish you all the luck in the world 🌎 And well done for doing the programme ✅
