by that i mean if i,m doing a 5 min run would like a count down on that run not sure if will help but running blind waiting for a beep at the end does not give me much feedback

If you have a smartphone you can download an app or a set of podcasts which tell you when to run and walk. The apps (a number are available!) generally let you play your own music; the NHS podcasts have music and a lovely encouraging coach called Laura who talks you through it.
Ah, ok. If you can download the podcasts, that might help - Laura gives regular time-checks, right from week 1. So at first you might get 'you're half-way through, keep going' in the 60-second runs (if I remember that right!). Later as you start doing 5-minute runs, she gives a 'one-minute-to-go' check. And as the runs get longer, she pipes up every five minutes to let you know how you're doing and encourage you to keep going. Is that the sort of thing you're after?
Can you not simply look at your watch when Laura tells you to start running? So for instance if you need to run for 5 minutes and she says "start running now" at 11:24, then you know you need to carry on until 11:29
yes i supose i could the problem being when i exercise i use my charge 2 to track stats which works well for this but to get time need to press a rather small button and the time is quite small i suppose i could increase the size as it has a few different screens but was looking at some thing that i could program with a large screen countdown
