Hello - I am struggling a bit so wonder whether I should keep repeating the week until I can do the runs with more ease. I am finishing the runs (just did R2 today). but its laboured and a struggle!

Any advice? Thanks very much

Everyone will suggest you slow down if you are struggling, you only need to repeat if you don’t complete a run Good luck

Thanks. Will try that. Second time around you’d think I’d know! Hope you are both doing ok!

Can you speak aloud, clear, ungasping sentences as you run?.........if not, you are going too fast.

I can (talk to myself!) but my legs seem heavy and overall sluggish. I might be dehydrated. And not sure what to eat pre morning run.

I remember heavy legs in week 4! I reckon it's just your body getting used to it. I occasionally still feel like they are dragging themselves along but they have kept going 😊. You may benefit from an extra rest day before starting W5 and keep up your water intake. Following others posts I eat half a banana and half a pint of water about 15mins before running in the morning, and eat the other half after warm down stretching. If I run at any other time it's at least 2hours after a meal. Keep it up, you know you can do it💪

Just read your post about ageing runner and it is brilliant, thanks!

Do whatever you need to keep yourself going! I struggled at the end of W1 because I was pushing myself too fast and I couldn’t breathe and started thinking that I couldn’t do it, when I put in the app that it was too challenging, the app made me do some optimised runs and it made me feel much better and now I’m ready to keep on going! I just started to take my time, go reaaaallly slowly and I really started to enjoy it! You can do it, you’ve got this 💪🏼

Keep going! you've run W4 twice already, so you know you can do it. The programme will challenge you, but if you wait until it's easy, you'll probably never move on. You are training both mind and body, so have trust in yourself, and know that you are strong, you are amazing, and you can do R3, all ready to then move on to week 5.

Hi, we're all different. I leave more days between my runs which suits me. Keep going.🙂
