Finally have moved on to week 5 today I did run 2 of Week 5 and am going to call it a dummy run as the second 8 minutes was a real struggle. I still cant breath in through my nose and out my mouth I always end up gasping through my mouth, I shall do run 2 again as no way ready to move onto the DREADED run 3.

Well done Sarahspain. I am doing my W5r2 in the morning. The jump from run 2 to the dreaded run 3 appears huge, but I am planning to do run 3 on Friday - assumimg tomorrow's run goes ok. I too have to gasp through my mouth - so you are not alone.

I can't breathe through my nose at all, I am a happy mouth breather! I found slowing it down a bit, really breathing into my tummy instead of just my lungs and pushing the breath out helped me lots. Don't be scared of W5R3 honestly slow and steady and it's not as bad as you think. :)

As long as you breathe! :) Steady and really slowly... if you need to repeat the run, then do it, but take it very gently.

You are ready for your next run, but if you feel you need to reassure yourself that is fine.

Slow, slower and slowest! Take it from the original Grey Snail :) You will get there !

Yup, I can't breathe through my nose while running at all! Never going to happen. I can control my breathing as long as I can use my mouth!

I can't breathe through my nose either..... nor can I do Laura's recommended four in and four out.....

I remember trying to do breathe the way Laura tells us to, but it did not work out for me either. And now that I run 25 km a week, I never give my breathing any though anymore. Just breathe in whatever way feels comfortable for you.

I am another 'mouth breather' and the best advice is to do whatever feels most comfortable.

If you are struggling for breath, you are going too fast. That might sound simplistic but it is true whether you are running for 5 minutes or for 20 minutes. Take the running intervals as slow as you can and you should find it easier to control your breathing.

All the best.
