Todays run had been nicknamed 'the find Julie run' after a few people had talked about her in this week, but having had 2 runs so far she was no where in sight. Or so I thought....
So off I trotted this morning not bothering with my kagool as it only seemed windy, I'll be fine I thought it's not going to rain till later. I got the warm up out the way and started the run, initially I felt like I was going a bit fast again so I adjusted my pace as I didn't want to tire too quick. After that I was pretty much hitting the same markers as my other W8 outings. Legs were good, breathing not quite right in the first half but I think that may have been the strong winds buffeting me a little. Five minutes flew by, and then as I approached the half way mark a song started up, not sure why but I thought is this Julie? and sure enough it was lol. I'd obviously been listening to it subconsciously before but this time I concentrated and now I know what you mean, she does get a bit annoying!!
Happy at the thought I had finally tracked her down I carried on while chuckling away to myself, those going passed gave me a few curious looks About now my breathing finally sorted itself out, legs still good but, oh, did the heavens open!! One drowned rat in the making. At least it was keeping me cool. Definitely need to invest in a baseball cap as the rain was building up on the specs, then they decided to steam up too :\ Luckily I had some spare tissues so a few wipes and I was almost there.
Another good run, even managed a little extra boost for the last minute. Everything crossed as I head into W9 after 2 days rest. The only thing is now I still have Julie running around in my head! I hope she gets tired soon she's driving me nuts! lol

What a terrific run, well done. You are so close to that badge now!
Yes Julie is a love or hate thing teehee! I finished my very first 10k yesterday. I was running to my own playlist on shuffle. As I approached the end of the run Take That began singing 'Julie'. It's a different Julie but it did make me smile! Julie joined me on both graduations haha!
For week 9 listen out for the last track, big band sound......it's brilliant, my favourite of C25k tracks. It's so uplifting as you get to the 30 mins, enjoy! ππΌββοΈππ½ββοΈππππΌ
Ha...first_mate π΅had enough of me and Julieπ΅π
At last you heard it..Don't worry she is reprieved in the warm up walk for Week 9 too!
Well done, sounds like your running is going great...
I have been running to week 9 lately and think the music is quite good to run to. I enjoy Laura chipping in with timings. Listen out for 'you just gotta do it, just do it.' Its now my mantraπ
Sounds like a fab run!!! I love the Julie song and managed to find it floating about as an MP3 on the web! It reminds me a bit of XTC or something else early 80's.
Hooray, you found her! Can't believe you missed her the first two runs! From now on every time you hear the name 'Julie' you'll be singing the song in your head. You're welcome! π
