I did w2r3 on Wednesday. I've had soooooo many excuses to not get back out again🤔 I'm stood here in my running gear ( amateur I. E. joggers, fleece ) only need to pop trainers on and go! Why don't I ? Please push me outta the door!😉

Thank you for the virtual boot ANewMe just got back in👍 And you're so right! It's half an hour! I've probably spent twice that wondering whether to go🙄

Anyway done now😀

Think I enjoyed it but Saturday night in my area isn't the safest place to be☹️ I was very aware of my surroundings, and all was ok👍

However some pillocks did make me jump, beeping at me on my last minute of my last run🙄

It might be funny to a group of young lads to beep and laugh at " the fat lass jogging" but I won't let it bother me😀 I was once young and gorgeous😉 Just as they probably are🤔

Time ticks on, we all age. In 25years, I wonder will they be still super cool in super cool cars? Or will they have beer bellies, sat in the the pub? On the couch? Or will they be out jogging?

They will probably be a mixture! Well done for getting out there and running. I'd have helped boot you out, but only just seen your post, so this just has to be a post run congratulations. It's far better the moment you are kitted out to just go out of the door than start thinking about things. Once you've closed that door, you're on your way and before you know it, 30 minutes has gone by and your back home again! Good luck with your next run. 👏🏻👏🏻🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏻😊🏃🏻😀😀

Yay! You see, well worth it 😀. You are right not to take any notice of others. You are out there doing it and have nothing to prove to anyone but yourself! Keep it up and good luck.

These youngsters do like to try and startle people for fun...I don't think it's especially malicious really, just very laddish. I've not had any problems running but then I go out under cover of darkness and only seen about 6 or 7 folk. When I'm out on the bike I've encountered it a bit...Kids walking nicely along suddenly playing chicken and leaping out with a loud noise before jumping back out of the way... Lads shouting out if I'll go out with their mate...Usually all he gets back is a thump and torrent foul language from said mate...And boy racers' passengers shouting something unitelligible out of their windows...Which is presumably abusive. No doubt as I eventually get brave enough to venture out somewhere more visible I will get it out running too...As my late mum used to say, if they're talking about me at least they are leaving someone else alone...

*puts on her size 6 running shoes and applies them to your backside* get out there. We'll suffer through it together!

There are a couple of things that help motivate you when you get stuck. The first is thinking that if you don't go as scheduled, you'll undo the good you've done so far and it might be harder when you do finally drag yourself out. One of the things that saved me (as I am a born procrastinator) was that I ran with a friend. Having a running buddy makes you turn up as planned and makes you keep going when otherwise you might have stopped. I was thinking about this today as I did Parkrun, I manage to do more when running with others. That's why I recommend Parkrun to all Couch to 5 K runners.

You are doing well and I promise you, we have all been there. The early stages are hard. Try to get into a pattern of running I.e. Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, Monday...etc. That way you've already set your running days and you'll try to keep to them.

We're here for you to cheer you on and give you a gentle prod if you need it. You can do this.🐢👣🏃🏿

Well done! I'm a terrible one for letting myself talk me out of going too, but whereas I've regretted not going out, I've never regretted going. It always feels good to look back on a run, no matter how slow! X
