i felt a wee twinge in my knee during the warm up and i was gutted to think something might be wrong and stop me in my tracks - literally!
however, it just seemed to ease off during the programme and it all went well - thankfully.
i have a new question if anyone can help or advise - my treadmill is in the conservatory and after the walk i was thinking continuing to do some 'brisk walking' whilst watching Eastenders and/or Coronation Street - this means i'll do the 30 minute programme but just keep walking for a bit longer.
do you reckon this would be advisable/recommended/frowned upon or a definate no-no? - would it do any harm?
could i do it on my 'rest days' maybe?
what do you all think?
thanks guys

Well done... just keep it steady.. I use my cross trainer on rest days...
I would err on the side of caution..but that is just me... I followed the programme and just did and still do, other exercise on rest days... but walking steadily.. well that should be fine
Currently, though...I am running three times a week, and also walking nine miles most days too...pushing new granddaughter in her pram... so, not heeding my own advice... my legs strength and core strength improving daily!!!
thanks for that - and congrats on your new grand-daughter!
i was just wondering about the walking because when i finished tonight i felt i could just keep walking for a bit longer and i had some soaps taped that i wanted to catch up on - its just a thought - i might probably do it on rest days but thanks again for the support and advice.
Well done! You're doing great by the sounds of it. Walking should be ok. Hopefully it's just a niggle with your knee but keep an eye on it and take an extra rest day here or there if you need to. Better that than end up out for longer - it really is no fun on the IC.
