Hi all. Been quite a while since I completed to C25K. I have completed runs since then but right now I don't think I could cope with 5mis never mind 30 so.....I'm starting it all over again! Right from the start this evening. Anyone out there who has done the same and if so, did you muscles have memory?

Yes and yes. I had three whole months off in the summer for an injury, and I started right back at the beginning. I found it easy so only did one run of Wks 1, 2 and 3, then took it seriously from Wk 4 again. It was really enjoyable doing it again and finding it so much easier - made me realise how much fitter I have become, all due to this marvellous programme.

I'm in the same boat as you, I graduated in November and then due to the holidays and some major issues over the holidays, my running got pushed aside. I started back on Friday at the gym and was walking on the treadmill and decided the last 7 minutes I would get back to my run. It was tough, but then I remembered I couldn't even do 90 seconds a short time ago. So your muscles do retain the memory, you just have to get back in the game and get past those nasty gremlins. I'm heading back out today, and I'm going to push myself to do the 30. I can and I will again!

I maybe haven't had quite a long break but Yes I've been suffering from xmas mince pie overload (got about extra 6lb to lose) and holidays and weather wrecking my routine.

Still managed mostly 3 runs per week but not what I would call good but glad I did them.

I had up till middle of December been running nearly 6 1/2 K and for 44 minutes. also trying out podcasts. But over about 2 weeks holiday period managed to do 30 minutes of running at best . Was also trying out some podcasts which upping of pace made me a breathless. Lesson learned that holiday time perhaps not good time to try something new.

However set out this morning with some nagging doubts about getting back to where I was but went great. Nice temperature no frost. Did 42 1/2 minutes and 6.3K and about at 5K mark did in 34 minutes. Pace nice and slow and consistent listening to my familiar music and got up my final hill towards home without too much puffing and panting.

Perhaps a bit better in some senses with more purposeful running technique which must have rubbed off from practising the podcasts ! Even though in last kilometre and back to more of a plod up my final 500 metre hill home. But that is not unusual.

So you never know. started out sceptical perhaps do at least 30 minutes and see how it goes. So you just have to get out there and think your body does start to remember. also knowing that I'd lost a pound in weight since last week helped ! Sometimes Just have to get over those initial gremlins that stop you getting out the door ! Glad I did and feel I'm back on track now !

Happy new year and happy running !

I was injured for a couple of months not long after completing the programme and, although I didn't follow the programme to the letter I used it as a guide to build up again. I think generally your fitness will build up more quickly than it did the first time round and your leg muscles particularly will remember. You'll soon remember why you enjoyed it so much the first time round! :)

I am in the same boat as you having not run in the last 7 months. I restarted from week 2 of c25k last week and found it to be OK. Not as easy as I hoped but not terrible either.

Hi. Yes - I graduated in 2015. Started again today after 18 months off. I didn't find it nearly as difficult or painful as the first time around.
