After a major down over the last few weeks (I did feel like a loser), I have restarted the program.
I am going to keep this blog as a public record of my progress. (now I've gone public, I'll have to keep it up!)
Today W1R1, I did all 8 runs, under a drizzle and in the wind.
Fleecy hat gloves and trousers; light Polaris weatherproof jersey; long-sleeved thermal; sports bra and underwear and Nike trainers.
The thing about living surrounded by hills is that there are too many hills and not enough flat sections!
I gave Laura the day off and used the Crank Round Timer app on my iPod.
I can set it to buzz on and off at the same intervals over my own playlist, and I ran listening to Woman's Hour podcasts!
I think it made it easier because I was actively listening, rather than waiting for Laura to tell me to stop running...
I'll see if this impression is founded in the next few days or weeks...
I didn't like the weight of the iPod bouncing in the front pocket of the weatherproof jacket, so I'll have to get an armband or a clip to keep it attached somewhere.
I'll have a look at Nike+ sensor, though based on my previous failed attempt at C25K, I think it may be premature to spend any € at this early stage...
Feeling positive that I got out despite major procrastinating.
Off for a shower, then lentil soup and poached egg for lunch!
Gone2seed, well done you but even more so, for making me sooooo envious.
I've had a busy morning, a 30 minute swim but now a bit of a headache and hacked off with the rain, so having a lay down............BUT just read your thread and am now up, deciding what to wear, so a massive thanks to you for encouraging me.
Not sure if the rain will effect my earphones but there is only one way to find out, goodness I feel like some intrepid explorer!
You sound a lot happier today. It may be drizzly and windy but that does make it the perfect weather for lentil soup....yummy. There's an upside to most things.
In an ideal world, a rest day would involve not much more than my bed, my iPad and an unlimited supply of peppermint tea and Thorntons chocolates...
*Snap awake*
No-one said I couldn't go for a walk, and as long as I am motivated to go out and do something, I might as well. So today's rest day involved timing a walk to avoid sudden downpours.
And though I succeeded in dodging the showers, I still had to contend with the drizzle which threatens to become a constant in my part of the world...
So, 45mn walk, uphill, downhill and uphill again...
