I am just about to do C25K for the 3rd time. Hoping I stick to it this time. I completed the fist 2 but COVID has knocked the stuffing out of me a bit. Any tips?

Listen to your body and the running will progress!

Take all the runs slowly, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, no running on consecutive days as that could cause a injury, good luck.

Do take a look are the Strength and Flex Forum, there are some really gentle exercises there to help your core strength and stamina.

Including a very gentle T'ai Chi one.

Do keep us posted please:)

Thanks for the information. I will have a look at that. I have finished week 1 without too many problems, just a sore neck and shoulders. I think I have been tensing my shoulders when jogging. Hopefully, that will settle in time bit the gentle exercises could help with that.

Thanks

more useful information. I am having my second day off today and starting week 2 tomorrow. I will keep the relaxation technique in mind when I go. Just a walk this afternoon to keep my legs moving.

I am with you there. I need to start again for the 3rd time. For the past 2 years I’ve started training in Feb, it takes me longer than the 9 weeks, I keep running up for a while and then when the winter comes something happens and I give up.

I’m with you, just run first session of week 9. It’s been 18 months in between completing c25k ,giving up and re doing👍

There are a few of us repeating the programme at the moment so you are in good company. My top tip would be to believe in yourself. Especially in the first 10 mins it can be a bit grim until you get your puff and settle down. You need to grit ur teeth and plod on (very, very slowly!) and tell yourself that it’s going to get better. There are a lot of mind games (aka gremlins) involved in running. When I start thinking I can’t do it then I visualise the gremlins and then swat them off!!!! Good luck.
