So it’s been three weeks since I moved to wales. I had pain in both my Achilles before I moved and was determined to keep going on this journey. The day of the move i decided to just repeat a week 1 run (should have been week 4 but already worn out with packing two vans) and I really struggled to do it. My intention was to boost my confidence and think it would be easy, but I felt like a complete failure! Since moving I haven’t stopped cleaning, moving furniture, lifting boxes and painting - all with continued pain in my tendons. Decided to start back at week 1 again today and whilst I’m pleased I have done it, I’m beginning to think I’m never to going to succeed with the pains I have, are they there for good? Any advice about what to do would be fab. Lovely tree lined route though 🙂
Here I go again! : So it’s been three weeks... - Couch to 5K
Here I go again!
Lovely photo, looks a great route. I feel for you and understand. I moved last October and it does take a while to get settled into a routine, and not just a running routine! I am also struggling with injury, desperate to run but worry about making my ankle/tendons worse again. I would recommend seeking professional advice. All the best to you .
Sounds like a good reason to meet your new doctor. Tendons can be funny things and you haven’t really been able to rest since your move. Lovely route - hope the pains clear up soon!
I agree. I'd stop running and go see your Dr.
I didn't. Then didn't run again for two years.
It's not worth the risk.
Are you Welsh? Or just fancied some greenery? Just being nosey!!
Definitely see your Dr. And when they say it’s safe to run, search Japanese slow jogging movement on youtube and you’ll find a short film showing a low impact running technique. This is how I run as I want to get fit but not injure myself. But definitely definitely see your Dr and if you can afford it a sports physio too. Hope you recover soon x
