Parkrun, here I come.....

Second run this week was yesterday afternoon, a sort of tester to see if I'm ready to do the Parkrun on Christmas Eve..... I started Laura a bit later so I still had something to encourage me, and off I went at my usual pace, this time aiming to do 4.5K rather than a specific time. 5 minutes, 10, 15.... Laura's telling me I'm doing great, so is the tracker on my phone - consistent around 7 to 7:30 per KM, I even feel good enough to go up the hill in the park (not exactly the north face of the Eiger, but hey...), Laura's saying a minute to go, tracker is up to about 4.2K, carry on, 4.5K ticks past, still feeling good, eventually I stop after about 36 minutes, distance... 4.9K! My longest ever, in time and distance - and it still felt like there was a bit there in the tank, and my recovery was reasonably quick too!

So it's onto my first ever Parkrun this Saturday - I'm thinking of printing out the Virtual 5K Poster and attaching it to me somehow.... so if you see someone at the Erddig Parkrun with that on, come over and say hello!

Considering that in May, when I started this, running for even two minutes seemed a bit daunting and was likely to have me puffing, I've come a long way baby.....

Brilliant run, you are parkrun bound for sure!

Hidden put the print off in a A4 transparent sleeve (see his post) which i thought was a great and simple idea.

Happy running Albert👍🏼🏃🏻

Yay! Well done ☺ Parkrun is great so don't have any concerns about it. Just go steady when the klaxon sounds, don't be tempted to go off too quick.

Have fun😊

Fantastic. Just do exactly the same on Saturday, at 4.9k you'll see the finish line and that will spur you on to complete the 5k. Good luck.
