A lovely sunny day again for W8R3. Think I might’ve walked a bit too briskly on the warm up as my calf muscles seemed to tighten up. After being a bit too focused on that, I decided to just carry on n forget about them n 5 minutes later they were fine
Got bored of my playlist about halfway through so tried a podcast episode n think I may be a convert. It was good to be able to just get lost in the subject n I completely forgot about what I was doing until Jo Whiley told me it was time to stop
Bit annoyed that I forgot to stop the tracker I use for just the run until about halfway through the cool down walk but looking at my overall distance I don’t think I broke a PB 😂
Onwards to Week 9 and graduation! 😃🏃♀️

Fantastic! So close now. I should change my name as I haven’t run to Disco for weeks now - I find exactly that - getting lost in the podcast and the running takes care of itself!
I steered away from podcasts cos I do listen to them a lot n don’t often listen to music but I found there’s only certain music that works for me to run to n I’m bored of it all now lol. I chose a podcast I knew I’d like but hadn’t listened to before n it really helped 😁
Thanks TC 😊. I don’t run to the beat so I’ve never really found it to be a problem. I’m just bored of the music that I’ve been listening to n I thought a podcast might take my mind away from thinking about what I’m doing. It definitely works 😃
Well done Jill ! Goodbye Week 8 and hello Week 9....so close now ! You should listen to my playlist would make you laugh with the amount of “cheesey” ones on it 🎧
I think parkrun does a weekly timed podcast... haven't tried one yet though. Also, the runs on the Nike Run Club app are sort of like podcasts... a bit banal at times but with some nuggets of wisdom and motivation thrown in.
The other thing I've tried since graduation is podcasts where you run in time to the music (AudioFuel and the like do these). That worked quite well for me, I have to say, though I missed the odd uplifting moment where a favourite track would come on (I have a HUGE spotify playlist that I set to random so it's always a surprise what I'm going to get).
