Hi all, and Oldfloss , I took you with me this morning, bit of a long one, but, you know I did that 10 miler a little while ago, I was so excited about completing it, before I managed to keep my fingers away from the keyboard I'd booked another one for the end of this month, doh! Anyway, on training runs and today was a biggie, 2 hours/15-16k.

Weather was beautiful this morning, bright sun and a bit warmer.....set off down the bridleway, a bit churned up where dog walkers had driven to the end of the village to park at the start of it (makes me laugh that, got a dog to walk and drive it to the bridleway πŸ˜„) so a little muddy and slippy underfoot, but that didn't last long as even when they get there they don't seem to walk far......πŸ˜„. So soon onto the more solid farm track, then the wind! Oh Lordy could have done with a wind break!

Kept going, but really wasn't feeling the love, Gary was creeping up on me, 'you don't want to do this', 'oooowwwww my legs ache!' , it was a fluke, you can't run the distance again.......up and through one village and still not really loving it, but kept going thinking Oldfloss was coming with me....just slowed down and just kept going. Carried on to the next village, feeling better now 5-6k, a nice long pavement at the side of a village road, then I found the reindeer! At about 7/8k, I had to go back and get a pic as was finding my mojo, and giving Gary the gremlin a right slap, so didn't want to stop.....πŸ˜‚, but thought Oldfloss would want to see those!

Got round to the hour, Scooby snack and a bit of water, Gary was left sitting in a puddle at the corner of the road. Back down to the bridleway now, on the loop going back, and out of the trees came a huge bird, not sure if it was a buzzard or an owl, but it was very big! On the home run now, looking across the fields, looking up at the sky, away from the traffic, how beautiful this place is......how lucky am I?

Coming up to hour 2, I'm getting tired now, nearly done though, can I do it? Can I get 16k? Yes, just over 2 hours mission accomplished, thinking of Oldfloss coming with me, Gary left sitting in a puddle in his pants, and Christmas reindeer!

What's not to like?

Happy running all πŸ€—

Brilliant! Well done Madge on an epic run! 10 miles is a long way! I am hoping to keep my endurance up by running one every few weeks during the winter. Which 10 miler are you doing by the way? Also, love the pictureπŸ˜€!

Thanks Sandra, quite amazed at myself really, never thought I'd be doing this! I'm doing the Bass Belle 10 miler, around Bassingbourn.

Well done for shrugging off Gary, that was a good run. Cousin Graham is winning big time here. Haven't done more than 5 miles at a go since the GSR, maybe I should head for the mud and just hope he gets stuck in it

Thanks ar, it was a but tough, but I kept telling myself, it doesn't matter, walk or run, just make sure you're out for the time.....and that seemed to work, did take a long time to get into my stride though, I felt like a bag of loose nuts and bolts, all out of synch clanging and grating for ages.....
