On my first week of Couch to 5K, done the fist two runs and I’m kind of looking forward to my third 😬 I’m on a journey to improve my health, think it’s going to be long road but I’m determined to do it 👍

Well done for taking the first step 👏👏👏

You’ll get masses of support and advice here.

I found it easier to decide in advance what my 3 running days a week would be and then keeping to it - almost like putting it as an appointment in your diary that you must keep.

Remember to take it nice and slow, stick with the plan and you’ll be fine.

Good luck 🏃🏻‍♂️🤞🏃🏻‍♂️

Thanks for the support 61Lady 😊

I was going to try and run every other day, would that be too much? My runs are very slow at the moment and not through choice 😂

I’m really just a beginner so far be it for me to give advice but all that I’ve read here from the far more experienced is that you MUST have at least 1 rest day in between your runs. Other than that, whatever suits you. I do Mon/Wed/Fri but try and do a walk of some kind over the weekend too. The other thing I know makes the runs better for me is drinking more water everyday - not just on run days. It’s become a habit for me now

Ahh ok cool, definitely getting a full rest day in between runs, so for now I’ll continue with every other day. I have made a point of drinking more water to make sure I’m hydrated, just try to get the quantity right 👍 thanks for your reply 😀

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.
