Just Started

Hello Everyone.

I've always been active up until my mid 40's. I served 24 years in the Army which really took its toll on my body.

Since I left I have been sat behind a desk doing nothing, the weight has piled on, I'm 55 years old and seriously need to get a grip.

My wife and I did our Week one, Day one yesterday and we both felt ok so looking forward to completing this in 9 weeks.

  • Thanks very much for the welcome, its much appreciated.

I have set myself a target of 1st Apr 2017, that's the date I aim to complete my first OCR.

  • Aaahh... another desk worker - welcome :-D The plan is great and it's cool that you and your wife are doing it together - all the best to you both.

  • Which OCR are you going to go for? That's a fantastic goal to aim for! Is your wife going to do it with you? Lovely that your both going for the c25k together. Best of luck with your next run :)

  • Hi,

I'm aiming for the Xrunner 5k which will take place in Derbyshire so I don't have far to travel.

My wife has expressed an interest in having a go too which is great.

Our son is a top UK OCR competitor (he finished 82nd in the world last year at the World Championships in the US) and I want to do it without him knowing so I can surprise him when I've completed it. He'll be gobsmacked!

  • Something in common then - mad about OCR sons! He will be totally made up if you manage to keep it a secret and surprise him. Is he off to Canada in October for the Worlds?

  • Hi there.. welcome!

This is a great place and our lovely poppypug is a real star...there is so much help, support, encouragement and a whole lot of fun!

Slow and steady is the mantra and you will get there..remember.. your journey at your own pace :)

  • Thank you my dear Floss :-)

Good Luck both , an OCR sounds brilliant and your son will be so gobsmacked ! :-) xxx

  • Well done for doing it. I have been doing the programme with my hubby and it's nice to have him there with me. Enjoy it! :) :)
