I have not run for what must be 3-4 weeks now because of hip pain so went to Dr and had x-ray. Results show arthritis in hip joint but the main cause of the pain is trochanteric bursitis she has suggested I do not run until pain settles down and has even suggested taking up some other sport... I am gutted. First time I have found a sport that's free, I actually enjoyed and felt a great sense of achievement and it may be in jeopardy. I am still walking daily and trying to keep my speed up so I don't lose all my fitness and I will probably have to restart the C25K again when things have settled down. I will give it another go because I don't want to stop all together but I am also going to do the dry January (we are rather partial to wine) so hopefully that will help with the weightloss too which should help the hip.. no point in starting this side of Christmas is there :D. Hope all you guys are doing well and enjoying the running...update again soon.

Oh dear... I really empathise... I am on the IC with cracked ribs!
Slow and steady, and as you say, the walking will help...I am trundling very slowly and doing a few exercises, ( gently) to stay supple. You can do upper body exercise... what about swimming or is that a no-no? We can be IC chums if you like...
I shall keep posting...I am hoping to be up and .. err running again in a couple of weeks...take care, and like I am trying to,...be sensible
O what a shame jmiss stay positive & maybe you will slowly get back to it. It is such a shame when our bodies let us down are you able to do stretches or pilates . I found when i lost a bit of weight my aches got a bit better but weight loss is slow & slower still when i stop running. Maybe gentle walking😊Take care x
I'm sorry to hear your news, I hope you heal soon and everything sorts itself out. I was off running for over two months last year due to a frozen shoulder (I was told the shoulder would not heal while I was running). I took up speed walking to keep my fitness and endorphins going. Do you think you will be able to do something like that?
