So, Week 3 run 3 done this morning and what a lovely brisk morning it was. After taking an extra rest day yesterday I decided to put an end to week 3 and see how my aches and pains went. So far, so good! I can't say it was a breeze or totally ache-free, but I finished and even ran an extra minute on my way home. I usually run through the week and I have to say I was a little self conscious walking along the prom. on a sunny Sunday morning (Old bloke in Lycra!) but I was feeling so pleased with myself I didn't care! (I'm not going to look at Week 4's running times until tomorrow though.. )

Well done you! And how lovely to be able to run by the sea. Good luck with week four, not that luck is needed as you are ready for it!
Well done on completing another week Gograndad !
You're doing great by the sounds of it and we all find it tough you know, it's not just you. We all struggle to get through these weeks! But those hard bits towards the end of each run when you feel like dropping is the crucial part of the plan and it's where we are making our bodies a little bit stronger and ready for the next week. (I've just returned from my W6R2).
I really don't recommend you run more than the plan asks you to as you may tire yourself out or even pick up an unwanted injury, so I would only do what Laura tells you to do.
As for the old bloke in lycra...well, it might not sound like a pretty sight at the moment, but soon enough that's going to be one fit old bloke breezing down the prom in lycra!
Keep on running!
Yeah! I know that no one is a born athlete, we all have to work at it, especially starting at this time of life. I don't actually use the podcasts, but time each interval on my stopwatch function and keep a mental running total. I think the music would just distract me. Now if I were program savvy I'd be able to take the music out and just keep Laura..
That's a shame you don't use the podcasts. They are actually really good and Laura pops up every now and then during the running phases to let you know how much you've done so far and a lot of people find the music really helps, so I recommend you give them a go I really do.
It's probably because when I started I counted the time intervals in my head, and since I've so far completed them all OK I feel like it's a good way to do it. I'll probably give the podcasts a try after W4R1, I've already downloaded them.
