W1 R2 so hard for me

Just done second run of week one and I found it so hard. I have got a niggle in my bad knee but that wasn't so much of a problem it was that my legs felt heavy like lead. Almost couldn't put one foot in front of the other on the "run" sections. I did do it though so I am pleased. Just thought it might be easier than R1 somehow. Next run scheduled for Sunday, knee permitting and not too hot.

I've always found the second run the hardest - I think it might be something to do with the first one being new (so I try hard to complete it) but then I'm just to tired for the second one. Good luck for the third one and I hope your knee is OK!

Thanks and yes I think you're spot on. Knee actually ok, hip ache now! Body just reacting to the shock I think!

If you cannot run it all, walk it :) It's all about building up stamina and getting your body used to longer times out and about than lounging on the Couch :) I forget how many time I could not run an entire stage - but there are NO 'failures' around here except those that do not go out the door to run. Once out the door there are ONLY 'Practice' runs and 'Success' runs ;)

I did the week 1 run 4 times in all and never perfectly. I think its the hardest. I havent had that much trouble with any of the others. They have all been hard but doable. I am doing week 9 run 2 either tonight when it gets cooler or first thing tomorrow before it gets too hot!

Hi juicylucy..do drink plenty of water, especially on rest days..your muscles need it.

If you want you can take two days as rest days, it won't hurt.

Take the running sections nice and slow, stay upright looking ahead, shoulders down. Breathing is really tough when you first start, its quite normal, just do you best, recover during the walk breaks and your breathing will sort itself out later in the program.

Good luck with W1 R3..you are doing fab.😊
