Had a good run yesterday but today my left knee is very painful. Due to do last run of week 4 tomorrow but think it may be postponed. I'm actually feeling disappointed 😞

Well done! But don't be dissapointed, it happens a lot, my wife had some knee pain at about the same time, she gave it good rest rubbing cream in, it went away and she carried on to graduation without a problem although via a cold.

If you do get reoccurring problem with knee pain, you could do some excercises to to strengthen the muscles around the knees, they are on here in the pinned posts at the side..😊

That's a good idea, massaging my calves helped, will try that with my niggly knee

it is annoying when the body isn't willing. I had knee pain but weirdly not whilst running only when on the stairs! I did quite a few knee exercises and these really helped.

Sit down on a chair, legs bent, lift bottom of leg so leg is horizontal then back to the floor. Do this a few times then hold leg horizontal and lift whole leg - something like that think I found it on the C25k page :)

Good luck

Try not to feel too disappointed janey38,

You've come so far,

I can second advice already given. Also a lot of folk here have had to repeat a week, have xtra rest days, make adjustments to their programme in order to move forward( should say run forward).

I'm one run behind you, so very interested in how you're doing. I'm struggling with heel and plantar pain, after a run my 5 Min cool down walk is really a funny looking hobble. Elderly folk stand to one side as I pass with a look of sympathy ....…I can almost hear them think " oh just look at that poor disabled women" except I'm not disabled just decrebit.

Just do what feels right for you,

Keep well

Running is all about knowing how to understand when to run and when to rest. I had a niggly knee too while doing the C25K programme. I found that doing strength and flex exercises really fixed it for me. I still do them now and also as part of my warm up. When I run, I don't bend my knees enough. At first, thought this was preserving my energy but it makes my knees stiff - need to bounce a little more LOL! Just back to doing 2 x 5k and a 10k and just had a return of the knee stiffness, so I am going to put in an extra rest day, do my exercises and will be back on track!
