Now I'm getting worried...

A while ago I signed up to do the Great South 5k as my husband is doing the 10mile run on the Sunday. I was already having a wobble as, since graduation, I've struggled to run consistently for 30minutes - and my average 5k on a good day is about 47minutes. So we signed my husband up to run round with me πŸ™‚. Now it's only two weeks away and my number has arrived so it's very real.

I know I'll do it but I really don't want to be last (I know someone has to be!) and I don't want to regret not doing the best I know I can πŸ˜•. Sorry, whinge over...

47 mins is fine , go for it and enjoy it . Think of all those folk who never get of their chairs! It's brilliant that you run. 47 mins is a fair time .You can do it .

I just looked at last years results and you definately won't be last...so just go and have a fab day. The adrenaline and occasion will probably make you faster too. Honestly, I am sure you won't regret it! πŸ™‚

You'll be awesome!! Somehow in races we usually do better than running on our own. And surely folks will be walking it, so you'll be just fine.

You'll be faster in a race situation. And even if it takes you an hour does it matter? Doing it is what matters.

Stop! Look back - wow what a view!

Your time is just fine, run your own run, and when you cross the line enjoy the moment.

Looking forward to reading your run report πŸ‘πŸΌβ˜ΊοΈπŸ‘πŸΌ

You'll be fine! The atmosphere on the day will carry you through. Just relax and enjoy the fun.

Can you just aim to enjoy it and get round, and as others have said, you won't be last. As your running progresses, and if you want to, you can work on your speed later. For now it sounds like you are doing brilliantly by reaching that 5k goal, well done and good luck :)

Just go for it, you can do it :-) I have also entered myself for a 5K in November and I'm on wk 4 now, just remember how you felt week 1 :-)

Thank you all for your replies, I really appreciate you taking the time. Have had a couple of good runs this weekend which have boosted my confidence and I know I will do it. Will report back when I've done the 'official' 5k. πŸƒπŸΌ
