I have just completed the final run of couch to 5k but at an average pace of 7 min/km I feel a little gutted I was set on running 35 minutes and completing the 5k but for the last 10 minutes I had a horrible stitch and it was too painful i stopped at 34 min 20 seconds and 4.82km I was so close!!!! So not classing it as a graduation until I fulfil the title and get 5k!
Week 9 run 3: I have just completed the final... - Couch to 5K
Week 9 run 3
Hi Sara
Although the programme is called " Couch to 5k " to graduate you must have followed the programme and in Week 9 , ran a total of 30 minutes x 3 times.
It doesn't matter if you haven't reached 5k. Your Graduation badge can be requested once you have completed all 3 x 30 minute runs of Week 9.
Very few of us reach 5k by Week 9. That is something you can work on once you have achieved Graduation.
You can request your badge here :
7 min/km? I *dream* of running at that kind of pace! (More of a 'just not stopping' sort of person it seems since I can run for 2 hours continuously now)
You did brilliantly and as others have pointed out YOU GRADUATED. By all means go out and chase other goals now, or just consolidate and enjoy.
LOL - I'm perfectly happy with my 5K in 44 minutes this morning, even when I found out I had not done it as I thought in 42!
But I do remember feeling very downcast at one point that I was 'only' doing 14 minute miles or whatever LOL - we really can be our own hardest competitors out there Sara and I do envy those who push themselves harder than I can
Many congratulations on your Graduation, well done by any standards!!
You have definitely graduated - 5k can be the next challenge (maybe even the next run as it sounds like you're doing great!)! Some people don't ever make it to 5k so it's not a requirement. Collect your badge and then you can make that 5k your next target.
