Hi. I'm Tricia. Am new on here. Am feeling very deflated this morning. Successfully completed week 5 run 3, but could not complete week 6 run 1. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Feeling deflated...
Welcome Tricia and a massive well done for a) starting this programme and b) getting to week 6. You should be very proud.
Loads of people find this run tough so you are not alone. Maybe it's because after the excitement and euphoria of the W5R3 run you went too fast or it's a mental thing that says " well I ran for 20 minutes so this should be easy". Not. All of this programme is hard which is why most people don't even try it.
Take a day's rest and try again and make a real effort to run very slowly. You will do it. We're all with you making a lot of noise and cheering you on 🎉👏🎉
Hi there - that W6 R1 again 😬!! Irishprincess is right - a lot of us hit a stumbling block on this run. Just put it behind you and run again and run slow - the programme makes us do this interval training again for a reason and it does work - massive well done on getting this far and good luck - let us know how you get on 😀
Yup it's a tough one. We all have a week or a run that hits us hard! Chin up, you got this, your almost 2/3 of your way through! Good work. And check out this poll.... You are not alone 😉 healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
I think after the high of completing week 5 run 3 it is often hard to get into week 6... I suggest, have a rest, go out and do it again when you are ready... Nice and slow and remember to breathe.... 😀
Well done you... you are well on the way, brilliant!
This week as her majesty Irishprincess says, is a tricky little pest! It catches most of us out. As she, and others will advise... slow and really steady...you can do this ! Just one step in front of the other.
Remember, as Confucius said, "It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop".
Take a rest and go for it!
Just try again. That run seems to trip loads of people up. Go slow and you'll be fine next time.
The others have said it already but honestly, this run catches so many out! I graduated last October and I still remember the dreaded w6 run 1! It will all come together again, I'm sure. Good luck!🙂
Thank you
I'm on week 8 now and I had an observation to share...it may help. Due to a very hectic work schedule I was forced to take 2 days off between mist of the runs in week 6 and 7, and to my utter surprise, I found them all relatively easy. Do try taking an extra day off. At thus stage I think it helps and of course, as all the veterans here advise slow down! All the best!
Thanks for the advice!
