After a long & stressful week at work I decided to repeat wk 5 run 1 this morning. It was such a struggle and I had to walk a little way in both the second and third run. Just hoping that, after the rest of the weekend to rest, I do better with the next one.

Slow down and slow down again. You’ll be fine next run 😃

I repeated some week 5 runs, it helped me.... And I kept it so slow.... Talked to myself every now and then to see if I could (ie the pace allowed it).... Probs looking like a crazy person but I'm past caring now. Pick your time of day-not too hot.... Hydrate well and just go slow..... You CAN do this 👍👍👍👍

The weekend of rest will definitely help your muscles rest for a little while. Just make sure you hydrate lots and most importantly take it slow. Try not to focus on how you can't do it, instead focus on your music, the environment around you and your breathing, I found that helped me when I first started W5. W5 and up is definitely more mental, your muscles have been trained to run for the amount of time - it's just your brain hasn't quite realised it yet. You CAN do it!

Good luck on your next run, you'll smash it :)

This was me in week 4. I had to repeat a couple of the runs. Had week 5 this week and managed them all first time. I definitely think that some runs will be a bit tougher for us depending on how we are feeling that day etc. Have a relaxing weekend and you’ll be on top form after it!x

You absolutely will get there. Please stick with it. Still not done 5k in 30 mins managed it in an hour! My speed is represented by these emoji 🐢🦥. Rest up, hydrate and then back to it 🤗

Well done, you did it.

Everything going on in our lives can impact on our performance as a runner. Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of my list of variables that need to be optimised to enable enjoyable running.

If you have a stressful week, then you need to lower demand or expectation and the best way to cope is just to slow down.
