Did my first run as a so called graduate yesterday and although I managed to do 5.3k in 40 mins and I ran all the way, pleased and proud,I really missed Laura! What do other people do when the programme is finished??
After W9R3?? : Did my first run as a so called... - Couch to 5K

Wow, congratulations - that's a brilliant time. Maybe by the time I hit my 60s I'll be able to do that! After graduation I took my ipod sometimes and just me sometimes. I know some people take Laura and week 9 with them for a while, after all it is just 30 minutes guided running. Whatever, as someone said to me: it should be enjoyment not endurance!
ps: where's your shiny new badge?
Thank you for your comments. I have now got a 5k route and I don't need to take anything with me but Laura and music does keep me occupied.
I don't know where my badge is. I did the 9 week programme through the pod cast which doesn't seem to connect with this site. I know I have done it anyway 😁
Hi Novice - to get your graduation badge, click on the link to the right of the page. called 'August Graduation Badge' and leave your user name for Admin and they'll sort your badge for you
You have to ask for it : healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Another vote for the NHS C25K+ podcasts... definitely start with Stepping Stone though!
That's fab! Well done! My first 5k, which I didn't achieve until after the C25k program, took me 50 minutes. So you're a star in my book.
I've not started a follow-on program yet. I'm just thinking of myself as consolidating being able to run 5k. I do some shorter runs that have wee hills in them, I do the Parkruns, and I just fit in half an hour's running on any day in the week that I can do it.
I think I'll give it another month and then look at a program to improve, so I'll come back here and read the replies you've had.
My first 3 runs, I took Laura! Re-did week 7 with 5 minutes tacked on the end! Since then I've just done week 9 again and again. Being a bit of a Luddite when it comes to downloading music and getting it on my phone, I haven't got round to making a 'playlist'. but it's on my list of things to do!
McFitty you have also signed up for a very scary run!!
You are running much further and faster than me. I am just trying to get to 5K so I know I can complete a Park Run!
