Confused a little.

Hi all!

I started last week and managed week one without too much difficulty. I am a little confused as to whether I have to do it Monday, Wednesday and Friday then carry on every other day so that the next run is Sunday or can I leave it for the whole weekend and just repeat Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks in advance.

Sharon.

Hi Sharon, it is upto you how you do it, but you must have at least one days rest between runs, sometimes more than one days rest is called for. Listen to your body and do what's right for you.

I always planned each week ahead to fit in with my work / life so sometimes did Monday, Wednesday Friday and others Tuesday Thursday and Saturday or Sunday. As Vanessa291 says, as long as you have at least one rest day in between you just need to fit around your own schedule. It does help to have planned days though. Good luck. 😀

Whatever suits you. just make sure you have a rest day between.

I found the Mon, Weds, Fri rhythm a good discipline

Thanks all. That really helped. I am going to keep weekends free at the moment. I am listening to my body too for instance today I gave postponed my run as I was feeling really wobbly and dizzy this afternoon I think I was having a hyppo ( iam Type 2 Diabetic) so felt it was important to eat sensibly tonight and recover fully.

Many thanks all.

Welcome!! The C25k programme is simply amazing, following it will change your life and be one of the best decisions you'll ever make. Well done for getting started!

Top advice is go slow! Slow down until you feel like you can't possibly slow down any more and then slow down again! As long as you have at least one rest day between running days then you can take extra rest days if you need to. The runs don't have to be done in one 'calendar week' - if you complete all of the running intervals in a run then you move onto the next one the next time you run. If you don't manage all the running intervals then try that run again next time. Stretch, listen to Laura, GO SLOWLY, take your rest days and before you know it you'll be running for 30 minutes!
