Hey pixie, I’m Just ahead of you on week 8. It’s nice up here 😉 you’ve done 25 minutes so you know you can do it. It’s psychological now. I’m using Runkeeper to count me down every 5 minutes and it helps. So post after your run and let us know how it went. Good luck and enjoy it.

Hello, I am feeling the same, had an injury and was due to start w7. I did a W6R1 to get myself back on track but was supposed to run last night but instead just hit the couch. It is all in my head I suppose but I don't know if I am built for these long runs. Trying to find my motivation to run this morning.....

Hello! Come on Pixiepickles and cheryl_couch_tatty , you can do it! Get your gear on, pop on the shoes and out you go. Start slow and stay slow! Maybe try a podcast to listen to whilst you run.

We await your post run reports runners 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻

Just did W7R2 last night so back on track. Glad to say my injury has been fine so my demotivation was short lived thankfully! Still not loving these long runs but I will keep at it x

You can do it! I’ve just finished Wk7R2 and its been a struggle to get out the door sometimes but I love the feeling of completing the runs and progressing. As Millsie-J says, maybe try listening to a podcast as that is what I am now doing and it really helps. Desert Island discs with Tom Hanks today - swoon! 🙂

Millie-J is right, start slow and stay slow! You’ll get through it and feel so glad you did afterwards. I’m due to do W7R3 tomorrow, after I’ve slept all day today! (It’s been trains, planes and automobiles since early yesterday for me)

I’m about to start week 7 I think ( having been a runner before and now coming back after an injury ) that once you get a few of the 25 minutes under your trainers it will get easier ! I agree re the park run it’s very motivating to run with others it drives you on !

I did week 8 run 1 last night and I’d moaned all the way through week 7, well not so bad in the last one as I had the podcast going and lost myself in the music, so much so that I was almost caught out when she said “5 minute left do you want to speed up a bit?” NO!! I grunted but still did 😜. My mantra last night was “ it’s only 3 mins more - that’s barely a music track. I can do this!!” And I did !! And you will too!!

Maybe if not the official podcasts then pick some motivational run music from your own favs and make your own playlist?

Keep going you can do it!! We are all here for you and have felt the same at one point or other.

If it's the thought of the longer runs sapping your enthusiasm PP and cheryl_couch_tatty why not do a couple of runs or so just because you can? No pressure, no podcast/app wk?r? Just run for a bit and see how you go. just make sure you are always hydrated and run when it suits you, hopefully when it's not too hot and rejoin the programme from where you left off. Sometimes the weather can have its effect, running as and when can keep you going but take off any pressures you may feel. The only other thing is to get ready at the earliest opportunity and go out for a run before brain/body catches up and says no - worked for me many a time.

You’re not crap at doing runs on your own! Honestly just try it 😃. As adults we can do things ! Yeah, it’s true!

It’s so much easier for a start. No waiting around, you just go 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️👍

Find new routes, go off-road, do whatever it takes but get going All of life is out there 🙂💪👍
