Finished it at 1300 today. I wasn't fast by any means but felt good to finish.
This past 9 weeks have definitely helped in multiple ways. I am feeling much healthier and I have lost almost 16lb. I am getting back in the habit of running (well slow jogging for me) and I can feel a difference.
I moved here in March and the heat/humidity take some acclimatization. Running in the evenings after work has helped with that immensely. I think the coolest day I have had was 87F with the majority being high 90sF. Lowest humidity was probably about 60% and to say I am soaking wet at the end is an understatement. However, I have come to enjoy sweating it our and after cool down and shower feel great. Side benefit when I have to work outside it doesn't seem so bad now.
So, future plans are to solidify my 30min base for another week or more then start adding time in small increments and let the pace increase naturally for awhile.
Thanks for all the awesome support here. Good luck everyone you can do it (if a 51yo man weighing 300lb at the beginning can it is doable).

Well done. I also did my last run yesterday and was slower but ran further than I have ever run before. I wanted to jump around and do a gig when I got home. 😁
🎈🎉🍾🏆👏. Congratulations on your graduation. Very well done. On your weight loss too. Keep it up and let us know a bit about your postgraduate running adventures.
