Don't worry about not being able to do the run. Slow down until you can complete it. If you need to repeat runs or weeks. Each bit of running you acheive helps build your stamina. Do what you can until you are comfortable with it and then move on. "Chickening out" is listening to that internal voice that says you can't do this. Yes you can as many here will testify. Pick another day and get out for that second run. Trust the programme - it does get easier honestly !

For lots of us, it needed a little push at the beginning ! Don't over think it and believe in the programme - it really works 😊

(And great swim!)

Chickening out sounds like this is a problem coming from you, rather than an outside influence. Swimming is a great way to keep fit, but it won't get you through the programme. If you want to learn to run the C25k is probably the gentlest and easiest way to get you started. There is no need to be fearful, you are in control. If you don't complete a run then simply repeat it and all the while you will be building up your stamina. When a run is completed, be confident that the plan is superbly structured and you can move on.

Come on, we want to see you running, not swimming. Keep us posted.

Well done on the swim. Don't be afraid of doing the run, if you got through the first one you can manage the second one! Put your running kit out somewhere where it will be in view. When you next get a spare half an hour put it on and head out! Once your kit is on it'll be easier to head out than not. Think how great you'll feel once it's done!
