Went to bed a little earlier last night and despite the heat I had a good night's sleep and woke up about an hour earlier. I was pleased as I have an early meeting in work so wanted to get to work a little earlier than usual. Without the pressure of having to force myself to run faster.
The run went well and I completed and I am now looking forward to completing this section of the podcast on Friday.
I wouldn't want to run with anyone else as I know that I would get competitive so running on my own means that I am in control of my pace, distance and time. However if it was not for the good folks in this forum that I can share this journey with I am sure that I would not have got as far as I have. And as far as I am going to go. No-one judges you here but boy do they encourage you in barrow loads. Thanks everyone.

Well done you. It is so great to get out there early, isn't it?
The heat currently, is making later runs very hard for some folk.. I was out yesterday before 5.30 a.m. and like you a good run!
You are doing brilliantly and getting so close now! Keep it steady and keep it slow...you will get there!
The support as you rightly say, is tremendous. I know I had, and continue to have loads of support and encouragement from our, (mostly) faceless friends on the forum. Friends who are there from the start and new ones made on the way...
I totally agree with you, love running on my own at my own pace no one else to judge or hold you back, me with my own 💭. Did try getting my daughter 12 years old to come along but she was a nightmare sprinting off to start then moaning that she was knackered and got a stich. That's if I could get her out of bed in the morning' lol but the support of the forum is second to none fabulous I to would like to thank everyone for your encouragement 😊
It's brilliant being up and about before nearly everyone else isn't it. I agree about the support, I might have given up at week 2 when I really struggled otherwise and like you need to do this on my own at my own pace. I quite like being out there on my own although I'm still hankering after dog number 3 as a running buddy 😄
Anybody who gets up early to exercise impresses me! (having said that we've had to set the alarm at 6.30 instead of 7 for the past couple of days and neither of us are complaining so I could see me doing it?...). And yes, I love running on my own. I hope to do the odd parkrun but I'll never stop running solo and I, too, have found the support of this forum (even when I'm not contributing) immense!
I agree, this forum carried me through the programme. It's brilliant, isn't it? But remember, the only one who can make you get up, go outside and complete the runs is you so you have done very well to make it this far! You'll be seeing that graduation badge shining in the distance soon...
That's what I wanted to see! And you made it sound like popping to the corner shop for a paper. Will be following in your footsteps tomorrow. You've inspired me - again
Well done - it's sounds as if it's going really well. Do you think you might try Park run when you've graduated? You can run with others but effectively only compete with yourself
I may well consider a Park run sometime. My plan when I complete the programme is to consolidate. In the past I have kept on pushing, faster and further and ended up stopping running. This time I want to sustain it.
