run tonight??

I ran week 4 run 3 last night, without Laura, and I'm itching to run tonight should I shouldn't I? I've never run two days together before will I be ok?

I'm enjoying running so much but I don 't want to "run" before I can walk and end up with an injury.

I'm loving it too but think the rest days are an important part of my progress and I don't want a injury that would stop me running altogether. Personally I would wait a day and go for a walk tonight.

That's a good idea, a long walk instead. Yes that's a plan I'll drag hubby for a walk.

I enjoyed last nights run so much I just really need to get outside.

Thanks OldPossum for telling me straight!!

Hi sorry finger slipped before I'd finished.I did what you were thinking and the result was being unable to run for over a week,I was on week3, so heed OldPossums advice and enjoy a leisurely walk instead. Good luck for your next run.

The rest days are as important as the runs; especially at this early stage.

Take a walk, as suggested, or do some strength and flex exercises. Core strength exercise, cycling, yoga or swimming are all great on rest days.

The temptation to get out and do another run because you feel fine is very strong... resist you must, as Yoda would say!

The IC is not a good place to be...:)

I'll just chime in with what everyone else has said- and to be fair b275 , you answered your own question in your last sentence, so you know what to do.

Your enthusiasm is brilliant, but no need to injure yourself. :)

Yes, rest days are important, and if you ran chances are you wouldn't do very well as you would be tired....better to have a great run than a bad one!

I ended up going for a walk round our local Asda - got a really bad bite on my leg and needed the pharmacy advice.

Feeling good now ready for tonight's run!!

"Injury", is not necessary the "Worst" outcome !!

"Lack of Drive", is one of the WORST !!

IF you do too much, or don't get rest breaks,

OFTEN the result is COMPLETE "AVOIDANCE"

of the program !!

You may be on W4, but you could end up STARTING OVER !!
