I'm BACK! W1 R1 (again)!

OK - I guess some of you have used lock down to get even fitter and run even more... sadly - not me! I ended up not running regularly (bad weather was an excuse at the time) putting on weight (about a stone)... and then not running at all.

Then, into 2021 I was going to start again, ideally by walking a few miles/day to lose some weight before starting C25K again - HOWEVER - my knee didn't want me to - all of a sudden, no trauma, I could barely walk - then limping on one knee effected the other knee, and boy was it painful - aching all night, never getting comfy.

So, now the knee is 'better' - not fixed, but not hurting at night - so TODAY - almost 2 years to the day I first did W1 R1 for the first time, I did it again! And my knee was a bit edgy, but I was able to run 8 times (very) slowly.

... so lets see how it goes - I'll keep you posted - good luck to all those others on W1!

Nice to be back.

Well done! One of the advantages of being a returner is knowing that the plan works, and how much fun it is as you go through 😄Sounds like you’ve got off to a really good start - good stuff!

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.
