I am in limbo a bit at the moment as I am staying with a friend till I fly out of Egypt on Thursday. I was wondering if I could fit another run in to complete Week 8, today I decided to pay the walk-in fee at the local gym and I did great! Last time I was at the gym I was running between 5.0 k/hr and 5.4 k/hr (at best). Today I managed 5.4 k/hr for the first half and then cranked it up to 5.6 k/hr for the second half, even up to 5.9 k/hr for the last couple of minutes! I know these times aren't at all great but they are for me! I know I shouldn't focus on speeds but it is good to know that I AM MAKING PROGRESS. And I just felt so comfortable today. I have realised it is actually harder to run around the lounge because I have to slow down around corners and that requires effort! Can't wait for my next run. Will try to do the walk-in thing again this week on Wednesday before I leave. Can't stop smiling today! I have been so ill and unfit in recent months, it is such a big achievement and a dream I had long ago of being able to run is now coming true.
