IC w6r2😩😩😩

β€’8 Replies

Well my relief yesterday at completing the above run even with care was short lived as my other knee actually hurt by evening and was visibly swollen. Ice and rest and cool ibuprofen spray have helped overnight but I shall be hobbling today I think. So realistically I shall have to climb on the IC and stay for at least at week and rethink when and how much to run. I have ordered knee straps which I hope to use soon. Fed up πŸ€•πŸ€•

Oh no, that's not good. Do you think that in trying to protect your first injured knee, you subconsciously ran in a way that transferred some weight/pressure onto your good knee? I had a bad car accident 4 years ago and twisted my pelvis and have had constant lower back/hip pain since then. I know that when I get tired on my 12.5hr shifts at work I walk in a way that "protects" my pelvis/hips, compensating if you like, but walking like that makes my knees hurt instead, or so my beloved chiropractor tells me. Hope that makes some sense? Hope you are not on the IC too long 😞

Yes I think you are probably right. Ooh twisted pelvis sounds horrendous. You must have to time your runs really carefully, to avoid aggravating it further after shifts that long. Hoping to be back as soon as poss. Good luck with yours. I'll keep checking in x

It's taken a long time be brave enough to try anything other than yoga/Pilates but I just wanted to get some stamina back after having none for years. C25k has been so good at pacing me and not letting me push too hard. I never work more than one day in a row since the accident, and run on my days off, with chiro every two weeks to make sure everythings staying straight! She's been really encouraging about the running. Touch wood my back has actually felt better the last few weeks, or maybe I just feel more positive generally? Keep chin up, you'll be back before you know it x
