😩very large lady update.

I completed w4r3 on Fri 15th and was chuffed to bits and looking forward to starting W5. Unfortunately over that weekend developed an extremely painful knee, especially walking uphill. So after a few days rest it didn’t get better and I saw my GP on Thursday. She was fab and did a lot of pulling, pressing and twisting. She thinks it may be arthritic changes but I have got to have an X-ray tomorrow. I am gutted about having to stop (for now, hopefully) but know I can’t “run” if my knee isn’t right.

Does anyone have any experience of running with arthritic knees that could offer any advice for when I can hopefully start again.

I actually scowl with jealousy at people I see running 😂

I don't have any personal experience of your knee condition but wait and see what your x-ray says and hopefully you'll be back running soon good luck 😊😊

So sorry to hear of your knee problems. I know what you mean about being jealous of people who can run when you can't - I was absolutely seething when I had my injury in week 8.

I have to say that getting some specialist sports therapy was the best thing I could have done. In my case, the right thing to do was to cut back but not stop, and do specific strengthening exercises. Without this advice I could so easily have gone through a cycle of complete rest and then further pain. Stick to the advice of the medics! :)

Hope you are back on your feet soon.

How are you getting on? You have been an inspiration to me and I really hope you are able to continue your running journey. I start week 4 on Monday, I’m wearing bright Lycra leggings. That said I do go early in the mornings !

Best wishes to you and hope you are back on track very soon.

Thank you Myzinnyboy 😊

My knee feels much better and I am trying to keep active with gentle walks until I get results and go ahead from gp. I can’t wait to start the plan again and miss “running” so much. I think this plan and this group are amazing and have certainly had a major impact on my life.

Week 4 is a fab week. I loved this week as I could see a real difference in my fitness.

Enjoy the runs and like the mantra of the group say...take it slow.
