After doing C25k and signing up for my first 5k, I had the wrong time and missed it! Yes I know,I'm healthier stil yada yada yada but, I had my 11yr old psyched up to run it with me as well! We went out and raised $210 donations for it and even went out and bought everyone their own "Superhero" shirt ( it was a superhero theme for the Children's Hospital) So this morning my husband, 11,4&2 yr old sons ventured out an hour and a half away only to find out we were too late! It was at 9:00 not 12:00!
Going to need to find a new goal now so I don't loose motivation! Still going to do the run but at home ( just not right to take donations then not do the run!)

So sorry to hear you missed your race. It was really nice of you to involve your son and also raise money for a good cause.
Parkrun is a weekly 5k run open to everyone on a Saturday morning. It is very popular here in the UK and I believe takes place in Europe---I'm not sure about Canada. This is a link to the main website: parkrun.com/about/
Even though you missed the race your kindness still remains and there maybe another race or event that you can take part in.

Awww that sucks. We don't have Parkruns in Canada (I'm in Calgary) but do you have MEC runs in Quebec? They're really fun runs, loads of people doing 5k of all shapes and sizes and loads of kids. Some people even walk the whole thing. They're $15 to enter, no medals or shirts but I love them. That might be the perfect replacement.
That's too bad about the race! It's nice to see someone on here who is from close by. 😄 I'm in Montreal. There are MEC runs in Montreal area. You can check out the dates and location on their website.
