started yesterday before i found this site, did a mix of walk/jog, then, after about 10 mins, found i could do a slow jog and not be gasping for breath or my face going a funny shade of red. By the time i got home (jogged for 30mins) i was sore all over and could barely climb into the bath to turn the shower on, today i did the same length of jog, had to climb the stairs on my hands and knees, but i actually feel im doing the right thing, ive always hated exercise and all i usually do is walk the dogs. Ive got rubbish cheap trainers, so im going to get a proper pair at the end of the week...i will do this

I recommend the c25k programme. It leads you in lightly with 8x1 min running in the first week up to 3x30 min running in the 9th and final week. What you're doing doesn't sound very sustainable and could lead to injury. Take it easy! It's fun!
Hello and welcome 😊 you definitely need to follow a c25k program which will build you up gradually over a 8 or 9 week program with built in rest days 😊
Alot of us here used the nhs C25K podcasts or app -

Take a look see what you think 😊

As others more experienced have said; you really need to follow a program such as C25K; it builds up gradually and advises rest days between which it doesn't sound like you're taking at the moment.
If you injure yourself then it'll put you out of the picture running wise for what could be a considerable time.
well done keep it up!!
