My journey to graduation has been halted as I have torn my calf muscle. Really gutted about this but I will just have to let it heal then get back into the programme.

Oh Sandman, you must be a Sadman now. Frustrating as it is, don't try to return too soon as you could cause more damage.

such bad luck. Any idea how long something like this takes to heal?

It can take 6-8 weeks then I need to be careful when I resume running.

That's a long time but lots of people on here have been stuck on the IC for ages but come back and got right back into running. How far into the programme had you got before the muscle tore?

Sandman, I know how you feel. I'm on the IC myself with a painful calf muscle. I don't know exactly what happened, didn't have it examined, but I'm trying to rest as much as possible, I iced it for the first 24 hours, I use a compression stocking and keep it elevated when I can. All in all, it seems to work. I cross my fingers for you!

Thank you for your message. I did have it examined to rule out a DVT so rest and elevation is the order of the day.
