post grad timer?

What can I use to set up a timer for running? For example, I want to add 10% to my 30 minutes, so I want a 'bing' at 5 mins, 38 mins and then 43 mins. Does that make sense?

Not really. If you are adding 10% to 30 minutes, why not just stop at 33 minutes? If you get to 38 or 43 you have overdone it.

Can't help but I want to know the same. :-) xx

I want to hit a button at the beginning of the run, have something bleep me after the five mins warm up, then again after 33 mins, and again after five mins cool down.

Oh and as an app on my phone. And I want to listen to my play list at the same time!

I have several, endomondo can be set to a goal distance or time, and I also have a round timer which you can programme intervals into it, eg you can have a 5 minute warm up, a 35 minute run and a 5 minute cool down. I think myrun has a feature for programming in your own intervals too but I now prefer endomondo.

Inspired by your post, I've just downloaded a free app called interval timer - timing for hitt training. I've just set it for the week 4 intervals that I'll be starting next week. I'll start off with Laura for the first run then maybe use my own music and this app for the last two runs. I can always delete it if I don't like it.

I want an app where I tell it the time I want to run 5k in and then it tells me if I need to speed up or not. Xx

I like Strava. Great for recording your runs and comparing splits times. So in a way does tell you the time you need to do, by comparing your times. Also shows others in the area doing the same route and their times too if they are on Strava, which if your're competitive gives you the feeling of running against others. Suits me as I'm not one for communal exercise yet ha ha! But I still like to see what others are up to. Doesn't give you commentary when your are running though, I just use the podcasts for that and judge my speed by landmarks/time.

First run today with out the podcasts since graduating and with my partner, Jon. He struggled to run at my slow pace I think, probably not much more than a walk for him, but he did push me to keep going further, an extra 5 mins, than I think I'd have got by myself so that was a good. Odd to run without music and just the sound of feet pounding the road and breathing, but nice to hear the birds, even managed to speak to him at one point 🙂 My neighbour (who is annoyingly super fit) said I was looking a lot stronger running now so chuffed with myself.
